SAVANNAH, GA – August 13, 2019 – After 34 events and a dozen outreaches over 22 days, featuring 135 artists from 12 countries, the Savannah VOICE Festival is slated to wrap up its successful seventh season. Themed “Heaven and Earth,” the 2019 Festival will return to earth with its finale concert and with Festival Gala Dinner” at 6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Plantation Club at the Landings, located at 1 Cottonwood Lane.
“We’re delighted to be returning to Skidaway Island for this special wrap-up evening, as we offer our farewell to Festival artists and announce the exciting line-up of our 2020 Savannah Opera season,” Co-founder and Executive Director Maria Zouves says. “In keeping with our 2019 season’s theme—this evening’s music and sumptuous Italian dinner will be Heaven on Earth!”
Hosted by SVF and VOICExperience co-founders, Sherrill Milnes and Maria Zouves, along with special guest, WTOC’s Tim Guidera, the Gala will begin with a cocktail reception, followed by the season’s final concert, featuring Festival artists, SVF Composer-in-Residence, Michael Ching, and pianists Howard Watkins and Matt Marco. Dinner will follow the concert and this evening will include the much-anticipated announcement of the Savannah Opera’s 2020 Season. This event is kindly sponsored by Barry and Naomi Cohen.
