SAVANNAH, GA – November 26, 2019 – The Savannah Ballet Theatre (SBT) is slated to celebrate the most wonderful time of year with its production of The Nutcracker at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8 at Lucas Theatre for the Arts, 32 Abercorn St, Savannah, GA 31401. New for 2019, the SBT launches their own orchestra as they present The Nutcracker.

The legendary Tchaikovsky score is utilized for a classic performance of this beloved holiday ballet, which demonstrates the story of a young girl’s dream of a Christmas gift coming alive to become a handsome prince. There’s no better way to get in the holiday spirit than by joining SBT for this magical journey transporting audiences from a fabulous holiday party set in the 1940’s to a dream unlike any other.

Join SBT’s world-renowned professional dancers, along with a brand new orchestra, local talent and surprise celebrity cameos, for one-of-a-kind performances that are perfect for all ages. There will be a character meet and greet after each performance in the lobby.

The Nutcracker is an incredible way to kick-off the holiday season, we are so excited to showcase our incredible dancers and introduce the Savannah Ballet Theatre Orchestra” said SBT Advancement Director Abby McCuen. “The Nutcracker has become a holiday family tradition for so many and we love that we are able to give these precious memories to so many.”

SBT is Savannah and southeast Georgia’s only professional dance company. It is their mission to develop and showcase the talent of dedicated Savannah dancers alongside top professional dancers who train in the studio, and to engage in educational outreach and promotion of the art of dance within the community.

Individual tickets to The Nutcracker cost $30 each, or a family package of four tickets can be purchased for $100.
