SAVANNAH, GA – August 4, 2020 – Savannah Ballet Theatre (SBT) has announced an Intermediate/Advanced ballet intensive with Joulia Moisseeva from the Kremlin Ballet, slated to take place Aug. 10-14 at the SBT studios, located at 115 Charlotte Road in Savannah.

Technique classes will be offered each evening from 5:30-7 p.m. followed by pointe classes from 7-8 p.m. The registration fee for this five-day ballet and pointe intensive with Moisseeva is $150. For more information or to register, please email SBT Advancement Director Abby McCuen at

“Joulia Moisseeva has had a distinguished career across the world with tours throughout Europe, China, Mexico, Taiwan, and the U.S.,” says McCuen. “So, we are thrilled that we are able to offer this special opportunity for dancers in Savannah and the surrounding areas to train with someone of Moisseeva’s caliber.”

Moisseeva graduated from Voroneg School of Ballet class of Professor Valitova in 1987 before she went on to perform with the Musical Theater of Karelia (Petrozavodsky, Russia). Since 1988, Moisseeva has performed with the Moscow Festival Ballet, the Kremlin Ballet Company, and the Modern Theater (Ustinad-Laborn, Czech Republic). She has taught and served as ballet mistress at the Center for Dance Education at the university of South Carolina, as ballet instructor at Akron University in Ohio, the Oak Ridge Kingston Ballet Studios, Studio Arts for Dancers in Knoxville, TN, the Lexington Ballet, and Spartanburg Ballet. Moisseeva has choreographed several ballets including Chopiniana, The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Snow Maiden, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, and Paquita.

Currently celebrating its 21st season, SBT was established in 1998 under the artistic direction of Suzanne Braddy. Recognized as the premiere dance company in Southeast Georgia, SBT is best known locally for its annual production of the perennial holiday favorite, The Nutcracker. SBT presents a full season of classical and contemporary dance every year. The beloved nonprofit organization is committed to creating and curating artistically forceful new productions which are based on adaptations of popular stories and movies. SBT is Savannah and southeast Georgia’s only professional dance company. It is their mission to develop and showcase the talent of dedicated Savannah dancers alongside top professional dancers who train in the studio, and to engage in educational outreach and promotion of the art of dance within the community.
