RICHMOND HILL, GA – August 10, 2020 – Savannah African Art Museum (SAAM) Founding Director Billie Stultz gave an impactful presentation to the Kiwanis Club of Richmond Hill on Tuesday, Aug. 4 and the Rotary Club of Richmond Hill on Thursday, Aug. 6.

Stultz’s presentation focused on SAAM’s mission, the different cultures represented in the museum, the new children’s art exhibit called “And the Children Speak”, and the launch of their new daily virtual online tours.

“Our biggest goal with these virtual opportunities is accessibility, which is why it is free to the public,” Stultz told Rotary and Kiwanis members. “Despite being closed for in-person tours at the moment due to COVIC-19, we want to continue providing everyone with the chance to educate themselves on the intricate, unique cultures of Africa.”

SAAM is currently calling for submissions for their virtual art exhibit, “…And The Children Speak,” which aims to provide a platform where children’s voices about the pandemic and current events can be expressed through their art. SAAM is also offering virtual online tours daily (Monday – Friday, excluding holidays) through Facebook Live, Zoom and YouTube.

Savannah African Art Museum is a non-profit institution that introduces all audiences to African art and culture. Their mission is to provide engaging experiences that educate and start conversations about the power, diversity, and spirituality of African art.
