SAVANNAH, GA – JUNE 15, 2020 – International Diamond Center recently presented the Two Hundred Club of the Coastal Empire with a $3,905 donation.

The funds were raised at a Valentine’s Day-themed silent auction, held in February, before the threat of COVID-19 necessitated the cancelation of social events. During the auction, Ghost Coast Distillery served a custom-made cocktail for the occasion, Southern Eagle Distributing provided beer, attendees also enjoyed light hors d’oeuvres.

Guests placed bids on pieces of jewelry that were carefully selected to represent the first responder branches – rubies for the fire department, sapphires for law enforcement and white for emergency medical technicians. Other prizes up for grabs included Cirque du Soleil tickets, gift baskets, gourmet treats, jet ski rentals and gift cards.

IDC Store Manager Gary Pinka said his team was delighted to organize and host the fundraiser, which was held in the nick of time.

“We were so pleased with the event’s turnout and the support we received from companies who generously donated goods and services to the auction,” Pinka said. “I’m glad we got it in before shelter-at-home restrictions became necessary, and now we’re thrilled to at last present this donation to the Two Hundred Club.”

Two Hundred Club President Mark Dana also expressed his gratitude for the event and everyone who made it possible.

“To the Leclerc Family, owners of IDC, and Mr. Pinka, thank you all so much for your kindness, generosity, and support. This donation means a lot to us, especially right now, as it comes right after COVID-19 forced the cancellation of our biggest annual fundraiser, the Savannah Mile, and many would-be donors just don’t have the budget to contribute right now, which is understandable,” Dana said.

The Two Hundred Club is a nonprofit, independent organization that relies on its members’ annual dues and donations as well as fundraising events to provide donations to families of the fallen and injured first responders.
