SAVANNAH, GA – JUNE 5, 2020 – Greenbriar Children’s Center has announced its “Summer Days Double Plays Challenge,” which is a matching fundraiser where participants’ gifts will be matched, dollar for dollar, by anonymous donors throughout the summer. The donors have agreed to provide $7,500 which, if matched, will provide Greenbriar with a total of $15,000 in much-needed funding.
“With the COVID-19 pandemic, many people who typically support Greenbriar have been unable to donate due to economic hardships, which we totally understand. However, that means a decrease in funding for Greenbriar, so this amazing initiative has occurred at just the right time,” Greenbriar Executive Director Gena P. Taylor said. “We’re incredibly grateful to the anonymous donors, and two of our board members, who have already pledged $1,000 each to put us toward our goal. With the match, that brings us to $4,000 raised at this point.”
Anyone who would like to support this effort by making a donation do so by going to Greenbriar’s website, https://greenbriarchildrenscenter.org, and clicking the “Donate” button in the upper right hand corner of the screen; going to the Greenbriar app and clicking the “Donate” icon; or mailing it into the office at 3709 Hopkins Street, Savannah, GA 31405. Gifts of all sizes are welcome and much appreciated by the center’s leadership team and the families they help. This initiative will run until August 31 or until the fundraising goal of $15,000 is reached – whichever comes first.
