SAVANNAH, GA – Oct. 1, 2019 – 4 the JEWEL N U Global Inc. is slated to host their WE RISE Luncheon from 12-1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Holiday Inn Savannah Historic District, 520 West Bryan Street. Proceeds will benefit Greenbriar Children’s Center.
The annual benefit luncheon will feature a gourmet catered meal, networking opportunities, and resources and information on how the community can rise above the residue of domestic violence. Guest speakers include WSAV-TV Anchor Tina Tyus-Shaw and Chief of Police Roy L. Minter. This is a special event to honor domestic violence survivors and those victims who have lost their lives.
During this occasion, there will be a book launch for WE RISE, a collaboration of four survivors featuring their previously untold stories about their experiences with domestic violence.
All proceeds will benefit Children’s Center’s Family Preservation program. There will be a special announcement revealed regarding a new project and partnership between 4 the JEWEL N U and Greenbriar.
“We are very thankful to the CEO and Founder of 4 the JEWEL N U, Karen Denise Alston, for hosting this important and significant event to benefit our organization’s Family Preservation Project,” Greenbriar Executive Director Gena Taylor said. “This program decreases the breakdown of the family structure, increases the likelihood of functional, successful families and decreases the abuse and neglect of children, which makes for a perfect partnership between our two establishments and missions.”
Greenbriar Children’s Center is a nonprofit organization that promotes the healthy development of children and the strengthening of families through services provided. These services include emergency shelter, independent living, family preservation, early childhood education and care, and Project Safe Place.
